TyStudio: Grab TiVo Streams
Yet again, Mark Pilgrim shares a great link. TyStudio “is a Tivo Video Recording Format framework”. Basically, it allows you to transform your TiVo recording into other formats such as standard MPEG so that you can use it for other purposes (archiving your shows, perhaps?).
I’m still not quite clear on how exactly this works—how you get the TiVo stream from TiVo to your computer—but it definitely looks interesting and I plan to look into it some more.
